Libya Rejects Appointment of Mauritanian Ambassador

Tripoli Post reports that the Libyan authorities have refused to accredit the new ambassador from Mauritania, claiming that he was loyal to the regime of the former dictator Muamar Ghaddafi.

The Mauritanian government confirmed the Libyan action and renewed its request for acceptance of Hammoud Weld Abdi, but the Libyan government insisted that it would not agree and the ambassador is preparing to return back to his country.
