Unemployment in Libya has fallen to 15 percent, according to a report from Libya Herald, which says that other estimates put the figure at 30 percent, and particularly high among the young.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation, Rabia Ammar, told the news agency that the 15 percent figure has been calculated from the number of applicants to the Ministry of Labour looking for a job in the state sector.
The total number of unemployed did not exceed 160,000 people, she said.
Previous estimates put the figure at 19.5 percent in 2011 and 20.7 percent in 2009.
