The Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic and the United Nations Development Programme in Libya (UNDP) recently organised a 5-day seminar for 11 Libyan judges and other judicial experts at the Judicial Academy of the Czech Republic in Kroměříž.
The course on the Status of Judges, Management of Courts and Securing Human Rights during Court Proceedings, focused on further expanding the theoretical knowledge among the Libyan experts on the management and status of courts, selection and training of judges, case load management, e-justice applications and alternative sanctions.
The application of UN norms and standards was also discussed, reports Libya Herald.
The group also visited the Supreme Court (pictured) and a prison in Brno, the judicial capital of the Czech Republic.
