Deputy Minister of the Interior Omar Khadrawi has reportedly been removed from his post by the Prime Minister, but is reported to have been nominated by Ali Zeidan as ambassador to Pakistan.
Spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior confirmed to the Libya Herald that Khadrawi has been dismissed but was unable to give any further details. According to the Libyan news agency LANA, though, Khadrawi had submitted his resignation in June this year.
There are several deputy ministers at the Interior Ministry but Khadraw, who was appointed to the post when Abdurrahim Al-Kib became prime minister in November 2011, was seen as the most influential.
