Libya is to contract foreign security companies to help tighten security at its borders, reports Afriquejet.
A spokesman said that the Defence Minister, Abdallah al-Thieni, had established contacts with some foreign firms to help address the problems associated with its porous borders, adding that the defence ministry had received detailed offers from some of the companies.
Libya has reached agreement with neighbouring Egypt, Sudan, Chad and Niger to jointly secure the shared borders.
