Mobile phone links between the east and west of Libya were severely disrupted on Sunday because of damage to both the submarine and land cables linking the two regions.
Libya Herald reports that the underwater cable between Khoms and Misrata was damaged by "unspecified weather conditions", while the landline was damaged by maintenance road works at Zliten.
Maintenance teams were dispatched immediately to both locations.
