Twenty trainers from Libya’s High National Elections Commission (HNEC) are participating in a workshop on electoral training delivered by UNSMIL and UNDP, taking place in Tunisia between 17 and 21 November 2014.
The workshop employs the learning system “Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections,” or BRIDGE, which is a modular professional development program that uses an activity-based learning methodology.
Participants, who are drawn from all regions of the country, are asked to consider their actions in the context of good practices in electoral administration. The workshop is undertaken with support from the UK.
The UN Electoral Support Team, which draws together resources from both UNSMIL and UNDP, are delivering of a series of BRIDGE trainings that enhance capacities of target groups (HNEC staff, observers and media) in selected areas of electoral administration, assisting them in conducting transparent and ultimately credible polls through the remainder of Libya’s transition and beyond.
The workshops are supported by the EU, Sweden and UK.
