Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) has warned customers not to purchase Libyan crude oil from any other entities.
As oil fields have been seized by armed groups and control is split between two feuding governments, the company's head of marketing told Bloomberg:
“This notice has been issued protectively to make sure that no shipment is done outside National Oil Corporation’s control.
“NOC is neutral, its main concern is to secure the resources of the Libyan people.”
Oil production has reportedly dropped by 350,000 bpd to about 520,000 bpd as output at Sharara and the neighboring El Feel [El Fil, Elephant] oil field has stopped.
