Egyptian aviation officials are reported to be rejecting flights from both Libyan Airlines and Afriqiyah Airways, apparently because they originated from Mitiga Airport.
Libya Herald reports that a Libyan Airlines flight from Mitiga to Alexandria via Tobruk was cancelled, while an Afriqiyah flight from Mitiga to Alexandria via Labraq was diverted back to Mitiga.
The Egyptian government imposed a ban on all flights to and from airports within Libya Dawn-controlled parts of the country, including Mitiga and Misrata airports.
It appears that the airlines attempted to get around the ban by having the flights land in intermediary airports—Tobruk or Labraq—on their way to Alexandria.
