The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has said that it is facilitating a meeting of Libyan political dialogue to end the country’s political and security crisis, to take place in Libya later this week.
While UNSMIL has not announced specific details of the meeting, Libya Herald has reported that it will consist of a one-day meeting in Ghadames on Wednesday, with participants flying in and out on the same day.
Later this week, a parallel dialogue track that brings together the Libyan political parties and activists will convene at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
Preparatory meetings involving commanders of armed groups are also taking place this week.
