Libya Herald reports that scores of Tripoli residents have been sent to hospital in recent days after being bitten by sandflies.
The bites caused Leishmaniasis, also known as Kala-Azar, a condition that can result in skin sores, infectious ulcers, and high fever, and which can be fatal if untreated.
The prevalence of sandflies is being blamed on the spread of garbage across the city.
