The Libyan Ambassador to India, Dr Ali Isawi, said Libya wants India to play an active role in its reconstruction and rehabilitation programme after its infrastructure was badly damaged in the recent civil war, reports NY Daily News.
Libya needs massive investment for development of infrastructure and in other sectors as a result of the damage caused in the civil war, and India can help Libya in renewed development of its infrastructure, the ambassador said.
The envoy created a stir two years ago when he resigned in protest against the violent crackdown on demonstrators by the Gaddafi regime, and subsequently joined the revolution against his dictatorship.
